Talking with God

Good morning everyone! πŸ™‚ I’m doing a little bit of a different post than usual today… I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Are you having a hard day?

Talk to God.

Did you succeed at something? Are you celebrating?

Talk to God. Thank Him.

Are you not sure where to go next? Are you confused on what steps to take? Do you feel like life is too confusing?

Talk to God. Ask Him for help.

Is one of your loved ones sick or in danger?

Talk to God. Ask Him to help.

Do you have a sin that needs confessing?

Talk to God. He’s already forgiven you!

Are you or your family going through a hard time?

Talk to God. He loves you!

There are so many other reasons for why you should talk to God, but I think you get my message!Β Talk to God!

There are many ways to talk to God. Out loud, in your heart… you could even write things down.

Even though it’s kinda sad to admit, when I pray, sometimes my attention will drift off. Or when I’m praying at night, I might fall asleep. Writing down my prayers in a notebook help me concentrate while I’m praying to my Father.

This is a shorter example of how I use my prayer journal.

10/29/18

Dear Lord,

Thank You for this day, I pray that we will use it in a good way and get all our work done.

Bless and protect [this person] right and now and help them in [whatever problem they’re facing]

Please help [this person] to heal quickly and not to stay sick!

Be with [this person] too, Lord.

Bless and protect [this family] as they’re going through a hard time.

Father, please help me to be obedient and respectful today. Help me to make the right choices.

Amen

That is just an example, I usually elaborate or bring up more things. πŸ˜‰

One more thing. I’m not just writing this post for you guys. I’m writing it for me too! I need to talk to my Father more. I need to bring more things to Him. I do. It’s a problem that some people struggle with more than others, but we do need to realize Who we’re praying to! He created us. He loves us! He wants us to talk to Him! So talk to Him.

  1. Awesome post! πŸ™‚ I pray throughout the day…but then I also try to pray in bed because it is quiet, and no electronics to distract me. But I usually still get distracted in my thoughts or fall asleep. I know I need to work on having a better prayer life! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

  2. I think every Christian probably doesn’t talk to God enough! I know as far as I’m concerned I pray the most when I’m struggling with something. I like the idea of writing prayers down! I normally pray at night and unfortunately my attention span is really worn out by the end of the day. Thanks for the reminder and suggestions, Liz!

    1. That’s probably true! πŸ˜‰ Me too, especially when I’m scared about something, I constantly pray. Yeah, it helps me concentrate! πŸ™‚ Same for me…
      Your welcome! πŸ˜€

    2. Yes, yes, yes Aria Lisette!! That is so what I do also. I usually pray while I am laying in bed at night and I am usually really tired by then so I fall asleep while praying. I really need to read the bible more often and pray while in not tired, lol, thanks Liz for the encouragement❀❀

  3. Oh my gosh Liz… you just said everything that I have thought of every time I pray! I LOVE this post. It touched me SO much!πŸ˜€ Thank you so much for this post and keep on posting! Hope to see a new post soon.

  4. This is an awesome post, Liz! πŸ™‚ I get what you mean by falling asleep while praying- not that I’m bored, but sometimes I’m just too tired. I write my prayers out too, because writing comes much easier than talking for me πŸ˜€
