Good afternoon everyone! Sorry for the late post. I hope you’re having a wonderful October 15th! π
It’s time for another “What Is Happening In My Life” post! The fifth one, to be exact. Let’s get right into it and see what has been happening in my life. π
Craft Fair
You guys probably know this already, but this year, my siblings and I decided to participate in our library craft fair! It happened this past Saturday and we had bunches of fun! (and made a little money too! π (photos were taken with my Dad’s phone)
This was our booth! We learned that next time, we should have a sign/name. π
These were the sleepy bears that my sister and I sold! I thought they did really well! π
These aren’t the greatest pictures… they don’t fully capture the sleepy bear’s cuteness. π
(you can check out my Etsy shop here, I have two sleepy bears listed, but they’re full size. I think I might list some of the small ones we have leftover soon… I am making progress on things for my Etsy shop, by the way…)
My sister crocheted some anklets too! π
This is what my brother did. Paracord bracelets, key chains, and perler bead coasters! π
Overall, it was a ton of fun and we are planning on doing it again next year!
Livvy
And this is the part where I share some sad news… π
About 3 weeks ago, our kitty cat, Livvy came inside one morning, limping. We took her to the vet, and the result was her leg amputated.
I guess someone thought it would be fun to go shooting cats and they shot Livvy with a pellet gun and it shattered her bone.
We didn’t actually see it happen, but that is what the vet said.
But she’s still a good kitty and she’s pretty much back to normal! π
Β She’s a silly little kitty!
What I’m Currently Reading
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell (Goodreads)
Still reading this one as a part of a horse history curriculum that my Mom is doing with my sister! π
Spring’s Gentle Promise by Janette Oke (Goodreads)
I’m reading theΒ last book in the Seasons of the Heart series! I’m liking it so far! π
Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink (Goodreads)
Then we have Caddie Woodlawn which I’m loving! Though I think if I read it a few years ago, it would have liked it even more. XD
The Little Lame Prince by Dinah Maria Mulock Craik (Goodreads)
I don’t know about this book… I don’t love it. *shrugs*
The Dressmaker’s Secret by Kellyn Roth (Goodreads)
I’m reading this book on my kindle right now and I’m really enjoying it!! π It’s good that I’m reading this one because the only ones I’ve read in this series are the third and fourth! XD
Seek by Angela R. Watts (Goodreads)
I’m beta reading this one and it is so good. You have no idea how impacting this story is!!
Casey Newman’s Guide To Being Funny (Even When Your Life Stinks) by Penny Wood (Goodreads)
Okay… so I technically haven’t started this book yet… (I’ve been focusing on Seek because the deadline is sooner), but I have the doc open. Progress! π
The Return of The King by J. R. R. Tolkien (Goodreads)
My Dad is reading this book out loud to our family and it is really good!! We’re almost done with this trilogy! π (that’s not the edition we’re reading though. π )
And that is all the books I am reading! π

Aria!
SheΒ just re-designed her blog and decided to go back to lifestyle blogging! Go check it out! It’s super fun to read! π
Soap-making!
Last week, I helped my Mom make some Christmas soap! It didn’t turn out exactly how we were planning, but I like it! π
And some random pictures…
To show you how I made the sleepy bears, I took some pictures! π
First, you cut out two pieces of fabric, using the pattern. (which we made based off a bigger one)
I use cotton fabric for the front and minky for the back. Then you can cut out a face and nose using felt and sew them onto the front of the bear.
We use the sewing machine for the face and hand-stitch on the nose.
After that, use embroidery floss and hand-stitch the eyes and smile onto the face. (now sewed onto the front piece) Eyelashes are optional! π
Then place the front and the back right sides together and use pins to keep them together. Start sewing at one edge. (don’t sew up the bottom!)
Before you start sewing, mark a spot you can sew around near the top that you can later cut out for the ears. π
Then keep sewing till you get to the other edge. Cut (with scissors) a little triangle at the top to form the ears and turn the fabric so the right sides are facing out!
After that, stuff it and hand-stitch the bottom! π
Behind the scenes of my brother’s crafts!
I actually bought one of these key chains from my brother to put on my backpack, they’re really cool! π
This is one of the anklets my sister made!
After we finished sewing sleepy bears, I organized and went through all my embroidery floss and it looks so much better! XD
This is something I bought from someone else selling at the craft fair! Isn’t it super cute?
I really like them! π
Another thing about this craft fair is that, at the end, all the sellers trade their items! It was super fun! π
Thanks for reading everyone! π
Do you have any pets? Aren’t the sleepy bears cute?! Any experience with craft fairs? Do you have any pets? What are you currently reading? Do you follow Aria? What was your favorite/least favorite picture?
