Hello everyone! Fun post today!
That was such a long title XD
I’m telling about what I did this month, and how Camp NaNo went! π July was a great month for me, and I hope it was for you too! π
Let’s get started!
July’s Goals:
What I completed is in purple π
- Have a relaxing hiatus
So, I guess it wasn’t exactly relaxing, it was pretty busy… but I’m glad I was on hiatus because it would have been so much more busier otherwise π
- Finish up RATC
Okay… kinda…?Β Let’s count this as a half point in my favor. We (at least I did) posted the last week of RATC but then Ariana and Christina never really replied to the email thread… so I’m not sure who won :/
- Participate in The Summer Bored Games!!
I did! I was busier so I didn’t do as many challenges as I would have liked but it was still super fun!!
- Read 12 books
Uhhh. Let’s see… I read 7 books this month π
It was super busy though π
Also, I have read 40 books so far this year (not all are on Goodreads)
- Mrs. McGinty’s Dead by Agatha ChristieΒ (Goodreads)
- Once A Stratton by Kellyn Roth (beta-read)
- Exile by Shannon Messenger (Goodreads)
- Wish You Were Eyre by Heather Vogel Frederick (Goodreads)
- The Vanderbeekers on 141st Street by Karina Yan Glaser (Goodreads)
- Betsy and Tacy Go Over The Big Hill by Maud Hart Lovelace (Goodreads)
- The Penderwicks on Gardam Street by Jeanne Birdsall (Goodreads)
- Do some blogging related things during my hiatus
Well I figured out my giveaway… and I think that is about all… π OH! And I added some things to my sidebar π
AND some pages to the top menu!! π
- Finish my skirt
Hehe nope!
- Finish up five sleepy bears
Again, not even close. We didn’t even sew this month π Lots of crocheting was done though!
- Participate in Camp NaNoWriMo!!!!!
OH YEAH! IT WAS EPIC!
- Finish my novel: Newborn Faith!!
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Do 2 lemonade stands
Nope, only one π
- Be completely caught up on reading posts! (for real this time)
I made lots of progress π
- Work in my sketchbook!
Yep! π
- Read half of the books from my summer TBR
Uhhhhhh
So I’ve read three of the Keep of the Lost Cities series so far. I guess only one this month. I read another Penderwicks… I’m currently reading King Arthur and my Dad is reading us out loud the first Lord of the Rings… I read Mother-Daughter Book Club #6 and that’s all. Not half, but some of them π
Goals for August…
- Have a start to school…
- Finish 2 Kings and Luke in the Bible
- Read 10 books

Liz’s Computer: *finally turns on*
Andrew: *looks over Liz’s shoulder* (I’m on my blue pillow/armchair thingy)
Liz: *is typing in password*
Andrew: Whatcha doing?
Liz: *pauses* Typing in my password.
Andrew: What is it?
Liz: You’ll never find out!
Andrew: I bet it’s Lizzy Franklin!
Liz: That would be a terrible password!
Andrew: *wonders when he’ll get a computer* You’ll never find out my password either! *after a pause* it’s hairspray.
Liz: *laughs*
Andrew: Now you know! I’ll change it! *whispers in my ear* it’s treasure chest!
Liz: *laughs again*

I took this picture a few years back at my friends pool, underwater! (my camera’s waterproof)
And sorry this is an old picture, I don’t have a pool π
I actually should have used my Mom’s phone to take a picture while we were at our friends house yesterday because they have a pool… oh well!

Thank you to all my cabin mates because this was an awesomeΒ month!!
Β YAY!
Day 20 (7/20/18)
Today my working time was 77 minutes bringing me up to 919 minutes total! π
I worked on my novel, CPC, and story trio
Day 21 (7/21/18)
63 minutes of work, 996 minutes total while writing my novel and story trio, plus organizing my many notes! π
Day 22 (7/22/18)
Broke 1000 minutes today!
90 minutes of work, doing the same things as the day before! *nods* π
Day 23 (7/23/18)
During the morning, I sprinted with Julia and JoΒ and then in the afternoon, I sprinted again with just Jo!
I only did novel work today with 82 minutes, 1166 minutes total.
Day 24 (7/24/18)
Okay. I wasΒ so proud of myself this morning! I got in over an hour with multiple sprints with JuliaΒ and Enni (seriously, it was like 4 or 5, but I wasn’t constantly working for all of them π ) Thanks, girls! <3
AND! I broke 50K words!!! I was actually kinda worried that this was gonna end up being a novella, (not that novellas are bad or anything, but I don’t know… π )
Then in the afternoon I did a sprint with Jo. Rebekah was there, not writing, but cheering us on! π <3
There were so much snippet sharing today! π
Also LakeΒ Cobbosseecontee π
Time: 99 minutes
Total time: 1265 minutes
Day 25 (7/25/18)
I did two sprints with JoΒ today! π One in the morning and the other in the evening!
Plus I accomplished 53 minutes during the morning….
And ya know what else??
I FINISHED MY NOVEL!!!!
YAY!
I may or may not have taken longer than necessary to write the last chapter! π
Currently the word count is 51,762 words!
I kinda actually think I may end up re-plotting and re-writing it… π
Day 26 (7/26/18)
I got 63 minutes in during the morning today! I did two sprints, one group sprint which was super fun with Jo, Rebekah, and Julia! Then another one with Julia!
I didn’t write down my total time π
Day 27 (7/27/18)
Annnd I wrote nothing down for this day *facepalm*
Day 28 (7/28/18)
I got 53 minutes done before lunchtime today but I did not write down my total time…
According to my notes, “I did a sprint in the morning with Jo (kinda)”
Don’t know exactly what that means but okay! π π
Day 29 (7/29/18)
I did an afternoon sprint today with Enni and Jo. And my working time was 78 minutes!
I worked more on reading through my novel and making light edits (this is not the editing stage, I’m just reading back over my work π ) and also on another story π
Day 30 (7/30/18)
I wrote for 65 minutes today with one sprint in the afternoon with Jo. π
I just worked on reading through and making light edits to my novel!
Day 31 (7/31/18)
The last day. Honestly guys, this went by WAY too fast. I don’t know if I can wait til April…
As you already know, I WON! At 1,811 minutes!
I did two sprints in the afternoon, with Enni and Jo!
Fun fact: On the second sprint, I won along with someone else… (we had both finished our goals by the end of that sprint), but… I’m not telling you who that someone else is *evil laugh*
(they haven’t announced it yet π )
So that was how my crazy month went! Thank you sooo much for reading because this was a pretty long post π
How was your month? How did Camp NaNo go for you? Did you make any goals for August? If so, what were they? Was your birthday in July? What are some funny conversations you’ve had with your siblings?
Til next time!
Ah, yes, Lake Cobbosseecontee. π I remember that!
All those sprints with you were a blast! I may not have made my goal, but thanks for them! They really helped my book! π
Yeah XD
Of course, thank you!! How far into it are you now? π
I just hit 30k in this draft today. π I want to reach 70k by the end of the month, because with grade 10 starting, my time for writing will be extremely limited. It’s a mess, and I can’t wait to edit it π
Wow, congratulations!! π That’s awesome! Haha XD I feel the same about my book π
First of all, CONGRATS ON WINNING CAMP NAMO!!!!!! It seems like you had a pretty good month! Good luck with everything in August! Itβs and exciting month because for me because I began school in August(technically I began on the 27 of July but itβs close enough :p) and my birthday is in August. :p
