Hello everyone! Today I have a fun post for you: My Morning Writing Routine during (July) Camp NaNo!
April camp was different for me because I had school (I attend a co-op) so I had to do most of my writing work in the afternoons or nighttime.
Summer, I can do it any time of day! I especially love working in the morning, though I’m not always able to. 😉
I took some pictures of my morning one day in preparation for this post and I will share those with you! (they are not the best, sorry) And let’s get into this post! 🙂
*pictures were taken on Saturday*
The times I wake up in the morning tends to vary but usually it’s anywhere from 6:00-8:00
Probably 7:00 on average.
When I wake up I usually lay in bed for a little bit longer and then go out to the couch or a chair and read for about 45 minutes or maybe an hour, depending on what time it is.
Then, if my parents are awake, I have breakfast!
On this particular morning, I had Cheerios, but more often, I have a bagel! 😀 I’m not actually sure why I didn’t have a bagel that morning… *shrugs*
Time to write!
Sometimes I write/check my computer and read posts before breakfast. I write in a variety of places.
Right now I’m writing on a couch in our front living room (not the couch pictured above)
I also love writing at this table we have set up by our window seat! (it’s more messy, most of the time 😛 )
I actually kind of like writing in a messier habitat 😛
There was a spider :O
Camp NaNo!! (sorry for the bad computer pictures)
I’m usually on my computer for about an hour (sometimes more 😉 especially when I have to write a post!) and then I go off and do other things and write more in the afternoon!
I have four main ways to keep me motivated and help me achieve my goal…
- Doing part of my work in the morning so I don’t feel like I have a huge workload in the afternoon and stress over it
- Do sprints with cabin mates (or by myself) at MyWriteClub
- Setting my goal to hours instead of words, so if I have to research some things or organize my notes, that still counts as writing time!
- Finally, I set my goal for finishing Newborn Faith AND working on other (writing) projects, so if I feel like I’m not doing well with my current novel, I can take a break and work on something else. Plus I did CPC (Team Strawberry won!!) and that sparked my creativity and counted as writing time as well!
Anyway, that about wraps it up! Doing this is very fun for me and I can’t believe it’s almost over!
Thank you so much for reading, everyone! I had a lot of fun making this post! 😀 Also Enni made a very important post asking for reporters! Since I wasn’t able to do it, I told her I’d share it on my blog! 🙂 Go check it out here!
And, I am participating in a photography challenge hosted by Cassia which starts on August 1st!
What did you think of this post? Should I do more like it in the future? What is your morning writing routine during Camp NaNo? How’s your goal looking? Are you gonna win?
