Camp NaNoWriMo Tags/Awards

A Camp NaNo Tag

Good morning, everyone! 🙂 As I am writing this, it is the 26th of March. Whenever this post is published, Camp NaNo will be fully underway.

I find that concept extremely hard to grasp, but am also very excited for it!

I think April is going to be a very exciting month full of writing, chatting, many, many focus sprints, school*, and WRITING AGAIN.

Did I mention I’m excited?

Oh, and thanks for the tag, Nicole! 😉

*because this is my second to last month of school, WHAT?!?!
*ALSO please do not steal any of these writing ideas. Thank you.*

WAIT A SECOND.

That’s not right!

It’s not the 26th of March anymore!!

Haha…. yeah. Um… can I use procrastination as an excuse?? *cough*

Yeah…. Camp NaNo is officially over and so is school. WOW. Who knew it would fly by so fast?!

Anyway, I thought that was funny, but go on with your day! I hope you enjoy reading this tag.

1. How many times have you done Camp NaNoWriMo?

This past month was my third time! 😀

2. How did you first find out about Camp NaNoWriMo?

I believe it was through some blogging friends…

3. What was the name of the first novel you attempted with Camp NaNo?

Newborn Faith. 🙂 That was an interesting novel. For now, I’m forgetting about it… I might go back later and completely re-write/plot it, but we shall see.

4. Give us a 1 sentence summary of what you’re writing this month.

Here is a very rough summary….. which is two sentences, I KNOW.

When her best friend and cousin challenges her to a novel-writing competition, Vanessa decides it would be fun and accepts. The simplest thing to do for her novel idea would to write about her life–and what an interesting life she’s had!!

5. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever been given?

The best?? Um. Well, during my first time doing Camp NaNo, many people told me that it is OKAY to lower your goal. (which I ended up doing, 50k to 40k, and I won with 40k.)

Now I’m telling you this. It is OKAY to lower your goal. No one will be mad at you! Sometimes, life just gets a little crazy. 😉

6. Did you ever take a year off from Camp NaNo? Why?

Nope! I’ve done every camp since I started participating in April of 2018. I did skip real NaNo though, but I plan to do it this year! 😀

7. What’s your biggest inspiration when figuring out what to write?

Um, I don’t know… XD

8. Read us the first sentence from one of your novels.

Oh dear, here we go…

It is time to write!

Hehe, yup! That’s my first sentence of my current novel: Growing Up. 🙂

9. Why do you love writing?

Because… I just love the feeling. How you feel when you come up with a novel plot randomly. How you feel when you finally get over the writer’s block you were having. How you feel when you read a specific sentence in your writing and it actually sounds good. How you feel when you finally complete your novel. It’s great! *nods*

Thanks for reading this tag!

So…

Have you ever done Camp NaNo? Are you a writer? Have you ever had a post sit in your drafts for so long that you forget about it? What was your favorite question from this tag?

  1. Cool! Last November was the first time I ever did NaNo, I’m still deciding on whether I want to do it this year. (But I’m definitely bookmarking this post because *cough* I just might steal it for NaNoWriMo if I decide to do it *cough* XD)
