Hello everyone! 🙂 I’m back again with another HARP’s post! Today I am posting a list of some of my favorite books that I (or my family) owns. But! They’re from my childhood! (10 and under probably)
Most of them are from my childhood… but some of them are current favorites! 😛
I am using ‘A List’ topic for this one! 🙂
Let’s go! Hope you enjoy!
I dedicate this post to everyone who reads my blog, thank you!
Also I personally am really liking this new divider 😉
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis (Goodreads)
Ah yes, Narnia! I actually haven’t read the whole series by myself, only a few of the books but my Dad has, I think, read the whole series out loud to me and my family. One of my summer goals for reading is to re-read this series, but more on that in another post 😉
I started Narnia, on my own when I was 8 and did not like them.
You crazy child.
But then I read two of the books for school and my Dad read some more out loud and now I like them 😀
And this is one of my current favorite, not childhood favorite, by the way!
Mandie and the Cherokee Legend by Lois Gladys Leppard (Goodreads)
I have the whole Mandy series. Except the first one XDDD because we lost that one, or it fell apart, I don’t know… which is why I took a picture of the second book!
The Mandie series has 40 books in it. My Mom had the first 20 books when she was little and we still have them all (except the first one and three others which are lost). I gradually gained the other 20 books and the three that my Mom had lost through birthdays and Christmas.
Anyway, I loved them when I was about 7-11. Then I got tired of them. XD I haven’t read them in forever, I should try them again!!
Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder (Goodreads)
I need to re-read this series too!
I think I’ve said that for every book so far XD
But seriously though, I haven’t read these in forever and my family owns the entire series!!
My Dad also read these books to me and my family when I was little! 🙂
The Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White (Goodreads)
I have read this book so many times XDD
It’s such a good book. I had to read it for school in 4th grade and that’s when I got hooked on it. I loved it so much. XD
I haven’t read it for quite a while though.
The NKJV Bible (Goodreads)
Yes, I still use my kids Bible that my parents got me in first grade. 😀
I have two bookmarks in there right now.
One is in the Old Testament, in 1 Samuel. The other is in the New Testament, which I am reading through some of it, during the summer! I am almost done with Philippians right now.
At Her Fingertips by Kellyn Roth (Goodreads)
Even though I’m still reading it, I really really `like it, already!! XD But seriously. Kell did an amazing job with this book.
Also the cover. I mean, just look at it! 😀 I think the gray background makes it look even better. 😉
Mr. Popper’s Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater (Goodreads)
I think I first read this book when I was 8 or 9.
And like The Trumpet of the Swan, I have read it countless times.
Look at that thing! It’s kinda dented up XD Probably because I’ve read it so much.
The Mystery of the Star Ruby by Gertrude Chandler Warner (Goodreads)
This was also one of my favorite series when I was probably 8-11. 😀 I loved it so very much. XD
This is actually the only book I have in The Boxcar Children series, but back when I read those books, every time we went to the library I would get like 5. (I would have gotten more, but my Dad put a limit on how many books we could get in the same series)
My brother also got the movie to the original Boxcar Children book for his birthday one year and we’ve watched that too. 🙂
The Samantha Story by Susan S. Adler, Valerie Tripp, and Maxine Rose Schur (Goodreads)
I read this book so many times. It is the American Girl Doll Samantha books 1-6. A friend from our old church gave it to me and my sister.
We read it a lot and loved it as you can see in the picture below. XD
I love the book mark it has!
The Angel Tree by Daphne Benedis-Grab (Goodreads)
“Hark the Herald Angels Sing!” (Hark the Herald Angels Sing by Charles Wesley)
Sorry, that was random. XD
This should also be a re-read, but closer to Christmas 🙂
The Angel Tree was a pretty good book with a good lesson. To be honest, I don’t remember too many details, only parts of it. XD
But I do remember really liking it! 🙂
Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell (Goodreads)
I also read this in 4th grade. I guess 4th grade just had most of the good books! 😛 5th grade actually had some good reads too. Most of the grades did! 😉
I actually want to re-read this one too. This summer, I think!
I do remember liking this book, though.
Now some extra photos! This is where I was taking my photos! (We were doing a puzzle on this table. It’s a pretty hard puzzle too!) I promise you I’m neater in real life.
All of my books I took pictures of, except Island of the Blue Dolphins. WHOOPS!
And we’re done! 🙂
Counting up points!
3 for the post!
16 photos, 2 per photo is equal to 32 points!
2 points for posting on Monday!
2 points for dedicating this post to someone!
2 points for using the line of a song!
That is 3 + 32 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 41 points!
Thanks for reading! Sorry this is up late! You can visit my Goodreads account here! Also please take this survey to ask me questions for my Q&A I have coming up…
What books have you read recently? Any books you would like me to review? Have you read any of these book? Any books I should definitely read?? Are you doing HARP’s? Will you give me questions for my Q&A?
