About Faith Potts — Dandelion Dust’s Second Birthday Bash!

Morning everyone! Today I’m bringing Faith Potts to my blog for an author interview celebrating the second birthday of her book Dandelion Dust!

If you haven’t read Dandelion Dust, your opportunity is coming up, so mark your calendars! 😉 It will be free on Kindle for the thirtieth of June ONLY. Don’t forget! 😀

1. Welcome, Faith! First, tell us a little bit about yourself.

Thanks for having me, Liz! I’m an independent author, homeschool graduate, and future Sign Language interpreter. Saved by grace and redeemed through Christ’s blood, it’s my desire that my words and actions reflect the Light of the Lord. In my opinion, coffee is life, dandelions are flowers, Carolina is home, and flip-flops are the best footwear.

2. Ooh, that sounds like a cool job! What was your favorite part of writing Dandelion Dust?

Literally everything. I was so head-over-heels in love with this book (not that I’m not now…) that no part of the process felt like a chore. From first words to publication in six months and four days! 😀

3. That sounds super fun! 🙂 How long did it take you?

I wrote the first draft in less than a month—my quickest book written to date. 😉  I wrote a steady quota of 1,000+ words per day. While that’s normal or even low for many people, that’s quite a chunk for me—especially to keep up with that as a daily count for weeks.

4. Great job! Are there any things you absolutely must have while writing?

Nope, not really. I can write in just about any setting or situation. However, my best writing happens late at night, when the house is quiet or semi-quiet. I usually have music playing—either something I’ve heard so many times that it doesn’t distract me or something with the same mood/themes as the story I’m working on.

5. Very cool. Do you have a favorite out of your stories? (published or not)

Yes… *slow smile*  I do. I definitely do. Freedom, my September release, is my favorite. The theme and story are very dear to my heart, and I feel like it’s the strongest book I’ve written so far. Guess we’ll find out whether or not others agree in a few months. 😉

I’m sure it’ll be great. I’m super excited to read it! 🙂
