Good morning everyone!! I hope you’re having a fine day so far! Today I am participating in a book tour for Allison Tebo’s newest release, A Royal Masquerade! 😀
I will be doing a book spotlight and an author interview! Keep reading and be sure to enter the giveaway at the end! 😉
About the book:
Burndee can barely tolerate the mischievous Prince Colin, but the two of them are invariably thrown together in a way that keeps them at one another’s throats.
While attending a noblewoman’s wedding, Burndee and Colin’s private feud comes to a climax when Burndee loses his temper and does the unthinkable. With Prince Colin unable to attend to his royal duties and Burndee bound by an inconvenient spell, can the two of them work together long enough to unsnarl the mysterious goings-on around them?
A madcap and magical retelling of The Goose Girl from a unique perspective.

I was very happy when I got the chance to interview the author and it was super fun! 🙂 So, without further ado, please welcome Allison Tebo! 😀
- Tell us a bit about yourself! 🙂
I am a Christian author in my mid-twenties, and I love to write fiction in every genre. When I’m not writing, I work as a salesperson for a major transportation company. I’m also a graduate of London Art College, and I love to pursue children’s illustration and cartooning at Allison Tebo Designs. When I’m not creating art with words or paint, I enjoy reading books aloud, singing, baking, and defending my title of Gif Master!
- What inspired you during the writing of A Royal Masquerade?
My readers inspired me! Everyone’s excitement about seeing the next installment encouraged me to keep going, even when it was tough. The three young girls whom I mention in the dedication particularly inspired me. They are fans of The Reluctant Godfather and each of them touched me in a special way. I know they’re anxious for the next book and they’re growing up fast, so I had to hustle!
- What are your plans for this series?
I am currently planning 14 books for The Tales of Ambia series. The main characters of The Reluctant Godfather and A Royal Masquerade will feature in the rest of the series, but I am also introducing a lot of new characters that I am really excited about. There are going to be lots of unexpected and funny twists on popular fairy tales and I can’t wait to dive into the next story.
- Who is your favorite character in A Royal Masquerade?
It would have to be Burndee. His frustration at being trapped in a social gathering and his pathetic attempts to be polite are endlessly entertaining. I really hurt for the poor fellow as he struggles with coming to grips over his own weaknesses. He’s quite a special guy to me; and has become a very good fictional friend.
- What time of day do you write best at?
I try to write at least two hours a day, and I usually work between two and five in the afternoon. I’ve trained myself to work at that time, but lately, I have more energy in the morning, so I’m going to move the writing schedule to write between eleven and one. Flexibility is a great thing to have as a writer!
- What are your current writing projects?
Currently, I’m working on two Tales of Ambia short stories, as well as the next novel in my Tales of Ambia series, my retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood. It’s slow going, but I plan to have at least one of those stories out by next year. I’m also outlining on some other projects not connected with Ambia, but it will be awhile before those see the light of day!
- Do you have any writing music you listen to?
I don’t usually listen to music while I write, but I started trying it recently when I was dealing with writer’s block and on certain days it does help! I don’t have anything specific that I listen to; I just tried to match the general mood and genre of the music to what I am writing.
Thank you so much for interviewing me, Liz! These were such fun questions!
Thanks for letting me! 😀
Now for the giveaway!! 😀 There’s some great stuff being given away, so be sure to enter!
A paperback copy of A Royal Masquerade, a fairy tale themed candle (Change Your Fate is quite important to the story, as you will soon discover!), an adorable little glass goose, and GODIVA CHOCOLATE (winner picks between dark and milk).
A paperback copy of A Royal Masquerade and a $5.00 Amazon gift card!

Thank you so much, Liz! I had so much fun with the interview, and I really appreciate you wanting to feature me on your lovely blog and be a part of the tour! <3
No problem!! I really enjoyed it! 😀 <3
Awesome interview, ladies! I enjoyed it. 🙂
I’m a loyal reader of Allison’s book, so I’ve read both of the Ambia books so far, as well as her others – and they’re amazing! I can’t wait to see the other fans and new readers enjoying A Royal Masquerade!
Yay! I’m so glad! 😀
That’s awesome! I’m actually currently reading The Reluctant Godfather and I love it, so I’ll definitely be reading this one! 😉
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it, Liz! Of course I think these books are fabulous, and they’re very close to my heart (along with their author). And to answer your other question, I think the giveaway is awesome, and I definitely entered!! 😀
Yeah, I am! 😀 Cool! (she is very sweet!) Yay!!! 😀
Ooh, I really want to read this! I loved the first one. 🙂
I want to read it too! I am currently reading the first one on my kindle! 😀
I’m going to get a kindle come Black Friday! I’ve read too many books on my computer. XD
Ohhh yay! Yeah, same!!! XD My Grandma got a new one for Christmas like a year ago and I got her old one cause she wasn’t going to sell it. I was very happy! 😀
Ha ha, yeah, that’s great! My mom does that with me and clothes except now they’re too small… XD
Yup! 🙂 Haha, same, except on the small part… we’re (for now) pretty close to the same size in clothes, I’m still a little smaller… but I’ve been wearing her shoes for years. XD
I grew out of her shoes when I was like, 12. XD
😂 Are your feet really big or are your Mom’s just really small??
Nah, I’m average and my mom is just small all over. XD
XD XD
My mom is petite, but it doesn’t seem like she’s as small as your mom. XD
Maybe, maybe. But you’ve seen my mom on my photo website. 😉
Well that’s true actually…
This was a great interview! To answer the questions, I have read The Reluctant Godfather twice now (and typed the title enough times my phone automatically offers the words now XD) and enjoy it very much. And yes, I am totally entering the giveaway. 🙂
Thanks so much! That’s awesome! (That’s hilarious. XD) Yay!! 😀
Thanks for commenting! 🙂
This looks so neat! Definitely entering the giveaway!
Mhm! Yay, I’m glad! 😀
Thanks for commenting, Julia!
I’m loving the tour!!
Yay! I’m so glad! I am too! 😉
